We offer 30-minute sessions for you to talk about whatever issues you want whether to destress or be able to get a different perspective when approaching them.

Mission

We believe that you deserve to get value out of every encounter with a mental health provider, even the first session, and that the best way to do that would be to focus each session on the problem at hand. Problem focused consultations have been proven successful in over 100 universities in the nation. Because of their effectiveness as well as popularity, many universities are switching their mental health services to this model. We believe such an effective model should be accessible by everyone. That is why we are building Talklet.

Who We Are

We are students from UChicago and UIUC who were brought together by the shared passion and mission to make mental healthcare more accessible.

Why are we building this?

40% of people in the United States experience mental health symptoms like stress, anxiety, or burnout but do not experience symptoms severe enough to cross the clinical threshold for diagnosis. Traditional therapy is expensive with long wait times, and more importantly, is not well suited for the needs of those with a less severe mental health condition. Unfortunately, there are currently no easily accessible and affordable mental health services that this 40% can use to improve their mental health. Talklet fills this gap by providing short, problem-focused consultations.
